Everyone is different. It may be helpful to incorporate some other therapeutic approaches I am trained in depending on your need or preference.
Somatic therapy is a body-based framework involving naming, identifying and releasing emotions as they are expressed through physical sensations in the body.
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is a practice that helps reduce shame, calm our inner critic, and meet ourselves with the same compassion we would give a dear friend.
Attachment theory is a long-standing, well-researched theory holding that the nature and quality of our early attachment relationships (usually with our biological parents) strongly influences the nature and quality of our relationships throughout our life. The good news is that the quality of our attachment relationships are malleable and can change at any time!
Polyvagal theory is a therapeutic model that explains how various physiological and emotional responses are actually sophisticated ways that our nervous system protects us from perceived threat.
EMDR is a well-researched method that allows for the processing of traumatic or distressing memories so that they can be integrated and stored in the brain in the way that non-traumatic memories are stored. This results in a decrease in emotional reactivity associated with the traumatic memory.
